Membership Update - October 2016

Click the image to view and print the Calendar of Events for October & November 2016.  This is a large file so please be patient as it loads.  Dates and events are subject to change.
Hello, Sun City Country Club Members!

The Bermuda grass has been cut low and we have planted the "seeds of success" for our 50th golf season at Sun City Country Club.  The golf course is closed October 2nd through October 22nd.  We scheduled a full 3 weeks of closure to ensure that the overseed goes well.  With that said, there is a very strong chance that we could open a few days earlier than October 23rd.  If that is decided, we will notify the membership first and then the general public.
Currently, we are scheduled to keep golf carts ON the paths at all times from the day we reopen until October 29th.  This restriction may also be lifted earlier based on the day we actually open.  We will do our best to communicate the progress to you so that we can get you back on the course as soon as possible.
During the overseed, the driving range and Grille will remain open and we hope you
will come over and hang out with us.  This is a great time to grab a bucket of balls and a beer and work on that golf swing, fine-tuning it for opening day!
As mentioned in prior communications, we want to do our best to effectively communicate everything that is happening at Sun City Country Club.  The calendar of events for October and November is available for you to view and print from home by simply clicking on the calendar image at the top of this email or the link at the bottom of this email.  Please remember that events, dates, and times are subject to change.  All of the events conducted here at the club will be updated in real-time on our website calendar so please refer to that for any changes to any of the events listed in this document.
Registration forms for the 2016 Welcome Back are now available in the golf shop or by simply clicking the link below.  It's going to be a great event thanks to the hard work of your Activities Committee.  This members-only event gives you the option to play in our 9 hole couples mixer and party, or simply party without the golf.  If you choose not to play golf, you will still need to register to come out and enjoy live music by The Full House Band, give some glow-in-the-dark putting a try, eat, drink, and dance the night away!  It's going to be a fun event and we hope you come out so we can welcome you back to Sun City Country Club.
Travel safe and we will see you soon...

Membership Update - September 2016

Our 50th year anniversary has us taking over the restaurant at Sun City Country Club!

Hello, Sun City Country Club Members!
Thrilling news: The SCCC Grille is now officially open! Recently, it was decided that the club take over the on-premise restaurant. We’ve worked hard and tirelessly to clean and fix dozens of items in the restaurant over the last month. As a result, we passed the Maricopa County Health Department inspection with flying colors. SCCC has been issued a permit to operate a food and beverage venue. What will this mean to you, our members? Every dollar spent in our new SCCC Grille stays in the club! It also means SCCC has a much brighter future toward sustainability and product improvement. The restaurant revenue not only benefits clubhouse improvements, but will help with golf course improvements as well.

For the golf course and the golf programming to improve, we’ve had to find ways to bring in new golfers, both members and public golfers alike. Since 2012, we’ve seen a remarkable increase of 7,500 golf rounds played at our club per year. The golf course improvements we’ve realized over the last three years have come directly from operational revenues and not owner capital.
We’re proud to now offer you an enjoyable food and beverage operation. Our goal is simple: Create a service and atmosphere that is an amenity to the golf course with a relaxing, fun, and friendly casual dining option offering great food and great times. Though the day-to-day operation of The SCCC Grille is casual dining, we will also be equipped to host larger events with more upscale dining fare throughout the year. It is our goal to upgrade the patio area to include an outdoor bar, an outdoor kitchen, stage, and new furnishings. You won’t see that when you arrive this November but know that your support of The SCCC Grille will help us realize that vision in the coming months further enhancing the growth of our club.
I’m confident that you’ll enjoy what we bring to the table on a social level this season, too. With the club now operating the restaurant, we’ve the unique position to leverage opportunities for Sun City Country Club and it’s members in terms of menu, pricing, hours of operation, and social events. It’s going to be a fantastic season!
And speaking of the upcoming season, thanks for your patience with the release of the 2016-2017 Calendar of Events. The time, labor, and uncertain dates for the opening of the new SCCC Grille has been delaying its publication. There will be a separate email this month providing a link to the calendar document when it’s completed. You will be able to view and print the season calendar from your home or you may pick up a copy in the golf shop. Please keep in mind that events, formats, and times are subject to change, however, we feel the calendar will give us all a nice overview of the activities offered at our club. So stayed tuned for that!

One more thing, please know we are in the business to do things right and we need your help.
Arizona Statute 4-244-40 prohibits any person from bringing spirituous liquor onto the licensed premises. Sun City Country Club’s liquor license would be in jeopardy if not in compliance so this law must be enforced. We kindly ask that you do not bring beer, wine, or spirits onto the property in violation of Arizona law. This includes stopping by your home if you live on the golf course and stocking up your golf cart with beer. If you truly care about the future of Sun City Country Club and feel the same pride for the club as we do, it’s an easy policy to follow. There’s much at stake to turn a blind eye; I sincerely thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Until the season commences, have a great rest of your summer. We appreciate you so much and we look forward to a fabulous 50th Anniversary season with you here at Sun City Country Club!
